During the month of November, you can enter to win $100 when you use eDeposits. This feature gives an easy and convenient way to deposit checks without ever leaving your house.

Here’s how you can make an eDeposit today:

  1. Download our IBMSECU Mobile Banking app
  2. Click on the Check Deposit option
  3. Snap a picture of your check with your phone
  4. Funds will deposit into your account!


When a qualifying eDeposit is made during the month of November, you will be automatically entered in a drawing to win $100.00. The drawing will be held on December 5, 2018, and the winner will receive a $100 deposit to their membership account within 7 business days. Limit one entry per member. eDeposits is an easy and convenient way for IBMSECU Members to deposit checks through Mobile Banking and receive immediate provisional credit. eDeposits allows you to take a picture of your check with your mobile phone and upload it for deposit!

How to make an eDeposit

Using your mobile phone, log in to our Mobile Banking system and click on the Check Deposit option. Then simply snap a picture of your check with your mobile phone and it will upload automatically. Your deposit will be fully processed by the Credit Union same day if made prior to 2:30 p.m. ET Monday-Friday, or else the next business day.

Please note that as of 10/31/15 the Manual and Scanned eDeposit options are no longer available.

 

How does it work?

You can simply snap a picture of your check with your mobile phone using the Check Deposit option inside Mobile Banking and it will upload automatically. Your deposit will be fully processed by the Credit Union same day if made prior to 2:30 p.m. ET Monday-Friday, or else the next business day, without the hassle of coming into the Credit Union or mailing the original items.

  • Your eligibility may change daily and your accounts must remain in good standing (no delinquent loans or negative balances).
  • Your Rewards Level may change monthly.
  • If you use up your “available” amount, the balance will not be released until the deposit is received by the Credit Union.

Quick Tips

  • When photographing your check, use a well-lit area to ensure that the check images are correctly captured.
  • Keep phone level, do not take a photo at an angle, and keep phone directly over check.
  • Keep hands clear of the check when photographing. For best results, lay the check on a flat, dark colored non-reflective surface when taking pictures.
  • Make sure that the entered check amount matches the amount on each check entered.

 

FAQs

Am I required to endorse my checks?

Yes. you must endorse your checks before submitting for eDeposit. Please sign your name, record your account number, and write "For Remote Deposit Only" on the back of each check as follows:

How do I register?

Log into Mobile Banking and then click on the “Deposit Checks” button. If this is your first time using Mobile eDeposits, you will be prompted to accept the agreement before making a deposit.

Who can use eDeposits?

eDeposits is a free service offered to all IBMSECU Members; however, you must be at least 18 years of age, be a Member for at least fifteen (15) days, and your accounts must be in good standing. 

How do I access eDeposits?

Log into Mobile Banking, and then click the “Check Deposits” button from the main menu.

Are there any unacceptable deposit items?

Yes. They include, but are not limited to:

  • Foreign Checks or Items drawn on financial institutions located outside the United States
  • Altered Checks
  • Incomplete Items
  • Non-Negotiable Items
  • Non-readable or non-visible MICR line items (the numbers at the bottom of checks)
  • Deposits from the same account that the deposit is crediting
  • Checks or items payable to any person or entity other than you
  • Stale-dated checks
  • Post-dated checks
  • Checks which you know, suspect, or should know or suspect to be fraudulent
  • Checks or items not payable in United States currency
  • Items previously converted to a substitute check
  • Starter or counter checks
  • Savings Bonds

The deposit of any of the above items is strictly PROHIBITED. Deposits of this nature may result in the immediate revocation of this service, and may subject you to collection efforts.

What is the cutoff time?

Any deposits processed prior to 2:30 pm ET will be included in the current business day’s work. After 2:30 pm ET, the deposit will be considered a part of the next business day’s work.

How will I know if my deposit was accepted?

You will receive an email notification when your deposit is submitted, processed, or altered.

What if I make a mistake in the deposit?

Each deposit submitted through eDeposits is reviewed for accuracy. If a mistake is made, a correction will be performed by the Credit Union and an email message will be sent to you.

What do I do with the original checks?

You do not need to mail anything to us. Instead, you must store the check(s) in a secure location for ninety (90) days, in case the Credit Union needs the original item to clear the check.

Can I make a deposit into another Member’s account?

No. You may only make deposits into accounts you are owner of, or joint on.

How do I deposit a check using Mobile Deposit Capture?

  1. From the IBMSECU mobile app screen, select Deposit Checks.
  2. Select deposit account, enter amount of the check and enter date, click Add Check.
  3. To begin taking pictures of the check, select the Capture icon, select take photo.
  4. Keeping the camera level directly above the check, line up the check making sure all four corners are in the photo, then take a photo of the front of the check.
  5. Follow the same instructions to line up and photograph the back of the check.
  6. Once photos of both sides of the check are taken, you will see both images of the check on the Check Deposit click continue. You can now proceed to deposit the check to the selected account.
  7. Congratulations! You have deposited a check!

Which mobile device operating versions are supported?

iPhone: 7.06 and higher

Androids: Android 4.0–4.0.2 Ice Cream Sandwich and higher
