Free Credit Reports:
Under the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act (FACT Act), consumers can request and obtain a free credit report once every 12 months from each of the three nationwide consumer credit reporting companies: Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion.

There are three convenient ways to request a free credit report*:

• Online
• By Phone - Call 877.FACT.ACT (877.322.8228) to request your free credit report by phone. You will go through a simple verification process over the phone and your reports will be mailed to you.
• By Mail - Download this form and return it to the address listed on the form. Your credit report will be mailed to you.

• Educational seminars are presented throughout the year at Credit Union branches and businesses. If you know of a business or other group that would be interested in hosting a seminar, please contact serviceplus@ibmsecu.org.
  
  
• BALANCE Financial Fitness Program - With so many financial obligations and options, money management may seem difficult and confusing at times. That's why Your Credit Union has partnered with BALANCE, a financial education and counseling service that can help you get on track, review and improve your credit report, get out of debt, set up a spending and savings plan that works for you, or prepare to buy a home. • If you suspect you are the victim of credit fraud or identity theft, contact the three credit reporting agencies:
  
  Equifax fraud assistance:  800.525.6285
  Experian fraud assistance:  888.397.3742
  Trans Union fraud assistance:  800.680.7289
  
  The agencies will put a fraud alert on your file, which will aid in preventing new credit accounts from being opened without your express permission.
